Color blindness has been a major factor in my approach to creative expression. Form and contrast take precedence. From stencil street art to formal paper cuts to wood sculpture, the emphasis becomes structure and movement and the resulting play of light and shadow. A tension exists between careful planning and spontaneity. All the pieces are drawn and cut by hand. This process imparts an approachability for the viewer. I try to convey a meditative yet playful experience, blurring the lines between craft and art.
